Welcome to the City of Tacoma’s Collision Database.


The City strives to ensure accuracy of the collision data maintained in this database. However, some inaccuracies do occur. The City of Tacoma provides no warranty regarding the accuracy of the data.

Federal law 23 United States Code Section 409 governs use of the data within this database. Under this law, data maintained for purposes of evaluating potential highway safety enhancements:

"...shall not be subject to discovery or admitted into evidence in a federal or state court proceeding or considered for other purposes in any action for damages arising from any occurrence at a location mentioned or addressed in such reports, surveys, schedules, lists, or data."

By accessing this online database, you agree that the City of Tacoma is releasing this data to you with the understanding that you will not use this data contrary to the restrictions in Section 409, which means you will not use this data in discovery or as evidence at trial in any action for damages against the City, the State of Washington, or any other jurisdiction involved in the locations mentioned in the data.

If you should attempt to use this data in an action for damages against City, the State of Washington, or any other jurisdiction involved in the locations mentioned in the data, these entities expressly reserve the right, under Section 409, to object to the use of the data, including any opinions drawn from the data.
